Phil Simon grew up on a farm in northeastern Ohio, and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy. Upon graduation in 1973, Phil began his career with John Deere in the Agricultural Equipment Division in the Sales and Marketing organization in Illinois.
Phil served in both John Deere Company Sales and Customer Support field manager positions in the Midwest, followed by various Customer Support and Training manager roles in multiple John Deere Company U.S. Sales Branches. He has also held Customer Support positions at John Deere factories.
Phil has also had several positions with global responsibilities, including Customer Support Manager for John Deere Australia; Customer Support Manager for John Deere Turf equipment globally; and Global Customer Support Manager for Deere Power Systems, supporting engines and power trains globally.
Phil’s current position as Global Manager, Dealer and Employee Product Training, is located in the John Deere Agriculture and Turf Marketing Center in Olathe, Kansas. His responsibilities for the Ag and Turf Equipment Division include the strategies and planning for the product and technical training for John Deere employees and dealers globally. His current and past responsibilities have included establishment and management of John Deere’s College Partnership programs for the Ag and Turf Equipment Division.
